News: ‘Sketches’ Nominated in Berlin Music Video Awards

The music video for ‘Sometimes’, from The Ray Mann Three’s new album Sketches, has been nominated in the inaugural Berlin Music Video Awards.

‘Sometimes’ has been nominated alongside music videos for such artists as Justice, Alt-J, Modeselektor feat. Thom Yorke, Sigur Rós, Michael Nyman and Sébastien Tellier. Voting opens soon, so check back for details on how to help us WIN!

This is the second music video made by Ray Mann to be nominated for an award – the music video for ‘Wannado’ was a finalist in the VideoBites Festival in Berlin in June 2012. You can watch all Ray’s self-made music videos here.

‘Sometimes’ was created as part of The Sketches Project. Via online collaboration, the video incorporates a variety of audience responses to the question “What’s one thing you could hit somebody with?”. These responses were translated into live action footage and animation by Ray Mann, with editing and colour grading by Peta Ridley – check out the process.

The Berlin MVAs take place 24-28 April 2013 – more details here.
